Bob Biehler Honorary Prowlers Member

Bob was asked by Bruce Hamilton if he’d like to join the Prowlers at an Ol’ Timers Picnic. Good timing was never a membership requirement to belong to this club and that was evident on this fated day. Bob recalled years later, “The Prowlers is one of the oldest clubs in the country, started in 1947. These guys still have the bitchinest cars. My biggest goal in life was to someday have a car cool enough to join the Prowlers. I had a few pretty rough hot rods, but when I got out of the Air Force, I started building a full fendered ’23 Model T roadster. It turned out pretty cool and we were cruizin’. Every year the Prowlers have a picnic and we were invited. We cruised in and parked right in the middle of the coolest cars in town. WOW! We were havin’ fun now.

Well old Bob, being a beer drinker at the time, started right in. After a while, they had a chug-a-lug contest so, of course, I had to get involved in that.. Shortly after, I was hammered and planked out on a picnic table when a member of the Prowlers, Bruce Hamilton, came up to me and asked me if I would be interested in joining their club. The only word I could get out without puking was “Noooo!”

Well that ended my dream. Don’t let alcohol get in the way of your dreams!

(that account is from “The Old Car Nut” book series by David Dickenson)

Here’s one of Bob’s early creations with an Olds engine and a TALL shifter!

This roadster from 1973 was painted with the Centennial in mind. It is still around and in fact has been reacquired by Bob’s daughter, Lori and her husband, Dave now in Washington State.

Here is an earlier picture of that car maybe at Santee Lakes Prowler Picnic.

You can guess where this is going….

It looks like an old hemi with an articulated air cleaner…a major necessity on a car that just has to look sinister.

Bob has done some creative stuff. Too much to show it all here.

Bob made a couple trips to Bonneville to ride this motorcycle.
